Scene 1 demonstrates the expectation to have children, with the act of sailing away being representative of a woman's freedom of choice.
Scene 2 - Katniss - Woman as Prisoner
This scene is used to show how women can often be expected to become housewives, with their homes almost acting as a prison - or a dome.
the frantic attempts at escape in the beginning demonstrate how some women can almost be subdued into becoming what is expected of them.
Scene 3 - Mulan - Woman as Property
This scene portrays the expectation women face to get married and how they are essentially handed from one man (their father) to the control of another (their husband).
The transformation into Mulan represents how women are capable of leading men.
Scene 4 - Furiosa - Objectification of Women
This scene portrays how men can objectify women, while the endless desert is representing the way this objectification can cause a feeling of isolation or separation.
Scene 5 - Ripley - Woman as Mother
In this scene, the Alien queen is used as an embodiment of the pressure women face to have children, while the protagonists destruction being representative of the anger felt towards these outdated expectations.

I still need to edit Scene 5 which I will link to the expectation of child birth that women often face - with the Alien queen acting as a physical representation of this expectation as its entire role is essentially to lay eggs.
I still need to remove the Trinity scene and replace it with another hero - I'm currently thinking of going with Moana as she is representative of female freedom and her character would fit well into the first scene as this is when the protagonist first leaves her old life in search for something else.
Although the metal arm would possibly make the character more recognisable as Furiosa, I'm leaning more towards #2 as she is missing her arm in the scene I will be replicating.
This will be the base model of the Protagonist. With this, I will make minor edits and add clothing/props to make her look more like the different characters she portrays in the script.
This new script is a bit of a departure from my original idea and is incorporating a lot more of Phil's feedback in regards to making the animation more in the vein of 'Duck Amuck' which has been a big influence. With these changes, the animation will be more entertaining and significantly less preachy/intrusive, instead allowing the same message to be told while remaining light and fun.
This animation will demonstrate the strength of women both inside and out of Hollywood, with the Protagonist representing women versus the Voice-Over acting as the controlling rulers of cinema who, even still, make choices with female characters to appeal to the male gaze.

All of the concept art that I've created so far can be transferred directly into the new story as the art style will remain the same, except I will now be designing costumes for the characters to make them more recognisable as existing movie characters.
I feel that the Mulan scene could be reworked to flow better as it currently doesn't feel as impactful as the others. I also think the V/O's dialogue will need some editing here and there to make it feel less static and forced, perhaps even removing it entirely.
From here, I will start designing costumes for the characters and new environments, as well as finalising existing concepts. I will then work on a storyboard, incorporating all feedback on this script, and get in contact with voice actors.
